Editions and Subscriptions

EXIT is a well-established LGBTQIA+ newspaper published by EXIT Publications Holdings (Pty) LTD. EXIT started its life in the early 1980s as the newsletter of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Trans-gendered (LGBT) community organisation of the time. It is the oldest and largest queer publication on the African continent.

The newspaper has recently changed new owners and is now 100% Black owned. With the change in leadership, EXIT newspaper and it’s online platforms have undergone a major revamp.

In keeping with our origins as a community newspaper EXIT is printed on A2 Newsprint and folded like a tabloid form newspaper. We then fold it again, wrap it in plastic and present it as a magazine in stores. The content includes local and international news, queer issues, health, business, education, arts and culture as well as general and personal classifieds.
